Let me briefly review the first two months of posts in order to highlight how each one plays a role in a specific thread of my overall spirit project:
Feb 17 • Elemental Winter
This post involves an account of a day-in-the-life encounter with the magic in our very backyards: “One of the most stunning aspects of the Fiskars landscape is its perpetual display of the magic of the elemental spirits that make up the material-spiritual continuum of life. Each season provides sight and insight into this aspect of our surroundings that we have learned to take for granted in this age of simplistic science.”
Feb 19 • Guts on the Table, or, the Importance of Free Writing Soul Exploration
This post involves a description of an important writing activity—Free Writing—that allows us to dive more deeply into the realms of our multidimensional nature: “The initial idea behind Free Writing is that before we can come up with our polished, coherent statements of BIG TRUTHS, we need to take some time to get stuff out into the open. In other words, we need to lay our guts out on the table, not just for others but most importantly for ourselves. We are just as complex and multidimensional internally as we might imagine the cosmos to be externally.”
Feb 21 • Soul Planet Channel: What’s in a Name? [Text & Audio]
In this post I attempt to provide an initial overview of my goals for this Soul Planet Channel project: “My goal in this Substack project is to contribute to the expanding chorus of voices channeling our collective consciousness into one grand complexly-harmonious symphony. Feb 23 • Fairy Isles in the Field
In this post I provide an account of some of the GEOMANTIC work I do on a regular basis, this time as an exploration of the ways in which we as humans connect intuitively to the spirits of the land we inhabit: “This type of entry could be called an exploration in practical spiritual knowledge. You could call it an exploration in our intuitive apprehension of the planetary features that surround us and which we could allow ourselves to become aware of and conversant with if we so choose.”
Mar 1 • Seth and the Multidimensional Realities of Presidential Campaigns
I wrote this particular piece in the middle of 2016 before the U.S. Democratic National Convention. I was intrigued then, as now, in the ways in which the narratives concerning the various candidates didn’t simply reflect the true nature of those candidates as living individuals but in fact created the various caricatures that matched the predispositions of varying opposed audiences. This is an additional type of meditation I plan to present as I develop this Substack project with you: explorations of public consciousness and representation.
Mar 4 • The Mountain Held the Town as in a Shadow
Among the features I plan to share with you in this Substack project is the category I refer to as Explorations in Poetics. And given the esoteric bent of this project, my poetic explorations will highlight various mystical and geomantic aspects of various poets. I am using the word “geomancy” here to signal those aspects of a poem that highlight our esoteric connections to landscape and animals. I could say “nature,” but I’m afraid that that word has become so normalized, especially in talking about poetry in the Romantic tradition. I do mean nature, but nature of a higher resonance than we typically imagine in our interactions in the world—or in “nature” poetry. To get us started on this track, I am sharing a draft of a chapter in my ongoing book manuscript on the geomantic side of Robert Frost’s own poetic project.
Mar 8 • This Scream that is Mine [Text & Audio]
At times we find ourselves dealing with emotional complications that make it harder for us to maintain the buddha-like composure that we might like to project in our public persona. Deeper aspects of our Shadow Nature force their way up through the surface and demand expression. This post represents another layer of the work I see unfolding in this project: Honest engagement with our Shadow Nature.
Mar 14 • Kachina Visions and the Expansion of Cultural Identity
This previously-published essay covers a wide range of fields of interest that I plan to pursue in this Substack project, a primary one here being the intersection of shamanism, mysticism, indigenism, politics, and telepathic spirit communication. My engagement with the Kachinas—or Katsinas—lasted for about two years, and I have yet to put the full scope of those experiences together in one place. Perhaps this is a step in that direction!
Mar 21 • Conversations with Nanuq the Arcturian
As in my discussion of my channeled engagement with the kachinas, here I explore the information I received in a moment of channeled communication by means of Automatic Writing. In this handwritten experience quickly entered into an altered state of consciousness, a receptive state to those messages I could feel hovering in the air. The message that came in began by highlighting the importance of the writing process itself as a part of this moment in my spirit channeling—the activity that the “Channel” part of Soul Planet Channel refers to. It turns out that I was contacted by an Arcturian being who goes by the name of Nanuq. By the conclusion of this channeling session I was to learn not only more about this Nanuq but even more about myself.
Mar 24 • Bodily Dimensions of Our Enchanted Terrain
As in my entry on my engagement with the elemental spirits of the winter landscape in my entry of 17 February, in this entry I wish seek to convey the recognition that our most mundane daily activities and travels are the substance of our spiritual engagement with our environment. As such, this also means that every day we contribute, whether consciously or not, to our ongoing Soul Project of Planetary Growth. In this account of the practice that I call Akashic Field Trips, I suggest that when we are able to take the moment to let this awareness sink in—literally to sink into our bodies and, thereby, our minds—we can come to a more profound appreciation of how our everyday experience involves our intimate participation in the miracle of creation.
Mar 28 • Rebirth of the Letter G
Another important feature of my ongoing project in this Magical Mystery Tour that I’m calling the Soul Planet Channel is the sharing of some of my POETIC work. In this entry I post a poem that grew out of my meditation that formed the substance of my post of 24 March entitled “The Bodily Dimensions of Our Enchanted Terrain.” The resonances of that walk across the meadow led me to get back to an ongoing poetic project of mine involving a visionary inhabitation of the very letters of the English language that mark my presence in this written space. What would it be like to actually move around in three-dimensional human-sized material forms of the letters that make up our words?
