For the past two weeks I have been woken up each night at around 3 a.m., usually by entities who identify themselves as beings from Jupiter. By now I can recognize their resonance or vibration immediately, so when I woke up last night, I immediately knew two things: that it was 3 a.m. and that I had been awoken by the Jupiter Beings again. I asked them if this was important enough to wake me up in the middle of the night again, and they assured me that I would benefit by communicating with them. So I rolled over, reluctantly at first, and saw Jupiter shining brightly into our window from the eastern sky.
Given that this made several mights in a row, I realized that it would be important for me to know a little more about them, so I asked them to identify themselves. They assured me that that was a wise move and then told me that they are a class of Devic beings assigned to the planet Jupiter. They then repeated some of what they had told me during previous nights—that they are not only regents of Jupiter but also, in a sense, of the Solar System as a whole. It is their task to protect the beings of this solar system and to see the the overall harmony of the planets in their relations with each other and with the Sun itself. Just as importantly, they are here to survey who comes and goes into this solar system and what their intentions and capabilities might be.
But last night they told me even more. They are in charge of what they call the Universal or Cosmic Consciousness of the Solar System, including, of course, human consciousness. More specifically, it is their task to work with humans in their capacity to become aware of our total cosmic relationships, especially our relationships with the other beings who share this planet with us. But beyond this, they also help us to see and feel our relationship to all beings in the Cosmos.
These relationships, they added, are not simply intellectual but, even more importantly in some ways, emotional or Astral. They emphasized that humans generally are very ignorant of the true nature of their Astral being and its impact on our consciousness and general well being. We humans rarely take the time to ask ourselves why we even have emotional responses to things in the first place. The Jupiter Beings (“Jupiterians” sounds a little forced to me) suggested that our emotions are one of our primary energetic response systems. We interact with and recognize other beings—and indeed with different aspects of ourselves—through emotional vibratory structures and patterns. Our Astral bodies are the first to pick up on the vibrations of anything we are in contact with. This is how, for example, I immediately knew that it was the Jupiter Beings themselves who woke me up last night. I could feel who they were before I had a chance to take in any other perceptual cues.
As they were coming to a close, I asked them how I might validate or confirm their comments, to which they suggested that I reread my Rudolf Steiner books. There I would find information that conforms to the things they were telling me about themselves.
As soon as I got up in the morning I got out my Steiner books and also did a Google search for “Steiner Jupiter.” Both on Google and in the book Astronomy and Astrology I found the following passage from one of Steiner’s lectures, a lecture given in 1923 entitled “The Spiritual Individualities of the Planets“:
Jupiter is a planet with a different character. Jupiter is the Thinker in our planetary system, and thinking is the activity cultivated by all the Beings in his cosmic domain. Creative thoughts received from the universe radiate to us from Jupiter. Jupiter contains, in the form of thoughts, all the formative forces for the different orders of cosmic Beings. Whereas Saturn tells of the past, Jupiter gives a living portrayal of what is connected with him in the cosmic present. But what Jupiter reveals to the eye of spirit must be grasped with thoughtful intelligence. If a man does not himself make efforts to develop his capacities of thinking, he cannot, even if he is clairvoyant, approach the mysteries of Jupiter, for they are revealed in the form of thoughts and can be approached only through a genuine activity of thinking. Jupiter is the Thinker in our universe.
When efforts to bring clarity of thought to bear upon some weighty problem of existence are unsuccessful because of physical, etheric, and especially astral hindrances, the Jupiter Beings come to the help of mankind. A man who has tried hard to apply clear thinking to some problem but cannot get to the root of it, will find, if he is patient and works inwardly at it, that the Jupiter powers will actually help him during the night. And many a one who has found a better solution for some problem during the night, as though out of dream, than during the previous day, would have to admit, if he knew the truth, that it is the Jupiter powers who imbue human thinking with mobility and vigour.
Saturn, then, is the preserver of the Memory of our universe; Jupiter is the Thinker in our universe. To Jupiter man owes all the impulses he is able to receive from the spiritual present in the universe. To Saturn he owes all the impulses of soul and spirit he can receive from the cosmic past.
It was out of a certain intuition that such great veneration was paid to Jupiter in the days of ancient Greece, when the human spirit lived so intensely in the present.
A stimulus to the whole development of the human being is given also through the part played by Jupiter in the cycle of the year. You all know that as far as his apparent movement is concerned, Saturn moves slowly, very slowly, round his orbit, taking some 30 years. Jupiter moves faster, taking about 12 years. Because of this quicker movement Jupiter is able to bring satisfaction to man’s need for wisdom. And when, at the cosmic hour of destiny in the life of a human being, a certain relationship is established between Jupiter and Saturn, there flash into human destiny those wonderful moments of illumination when many things concerning the past are revealed through thinking.
If we look in history for occasions in the time of the Renaissance — particularly during its last period — when there was a great renewal of ancient impulses, we shall find that this was directly connected with a certain relationship between Jupiter and Saturn.
But, as already said, Jupiter is in a certain respect impenetrable and his revelations remain in the unconscious if a man does not bring to them clear and active light-filled thoughts of his own. And that is why in ancient times, when active thinking was still at a very early state of development, the progress of humanity was in truth always dependent upon the relation between Jupiter and Saturn. When Jupiter and Saturn together formed a certain constellation, many things were revealed to our ancestors in those days. Modern man has to depend more upon receiving the memory of Saturn and the wisdom of Jupiter separately in the course of his spiritual development. (Astronomy and Astrology pp. 120-122)
As you can see, these details match what the Jupiter Beings were telling me during the night. I was especially struck by Steiner’s emphasis on Jupiter’s role in the development of clarity of thought in humans and Steiner’s statement that Astral influences are primary hindrances to full consciousness of our Jupiterian connection. But as the Jupiter Beings explained, once we become conscious of this Astral distribution in the economy of our conscious and unconscious expressions, we can then address our Astral dimension directly and transform previously disturbing or distracting emotional states into tools for heightened awareness.
After telling me to reread Steiner, the Jupiter Beings went on to tell me that it is no coincidence that many of the spiritual movements or influences I have associated myself with are astrological/astronomical variations on more traditional versions of those endeavors. In particular, it is significant that during the Summer of 2011 as I was going through an initial “cracking-open” phase of my spiritual path, I did some ceremonial work with two people in Crestone, Colorado associated with the Star Knowledge group developed by Chief Golden Light Eagle. This in turn led to my attending the Star Knowledge Conference in Nashville in September 2014. It was here that I met both Clifford Mahooty and Laura Eisenhower.
The Jupiter Beings went on to suggest that the same astrological influence was one unconscious motive behind my choice to attend a week-long New Year’s workshop with Astroshaman Franco Santoro at Findhorn during the 2011-2012 New Year’s week.
In his Facebook post on July 18, 2014 on the Astroshamanism page, Franco Santoro wrote this note about our current Jupiter transit through Leo:
Jupiter transits Leo. Time to embrace the quest and seize the day!
“If you are brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting (which can be anything from your house to your bitter old resentments) and set out on a truth-seeking journey (either externally or internally), and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue, and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher, and if you are prepared – most of all – to face (and forgive) some very difficult realities about yourself… then truth will not be withheld from you.”
