My Numbered Photoshop Version of the Museovirasto Map

Twice in the past week I returned to the Järnvik Cairn Site here in Fiskars to get better acquainted with the energies there and the layout of the site. I will discuss the first return visit here.

On Friday, 30 April 2021 I went back to the cairns in order to try to line up the map with the numbers I had placed on the cairns (marked by stars) with the actual mounds on the ground, as well as to check out the accuracy of the geospatial coordinates I had come up with on my laptop by placing my cursor over each star on the Museovirasto map site. and then converting them into the standard coordinates used by Google maps with the online EPSG conversion tool.

Using the Topo GPS phone app (which uses the same map graphics as Museovirasto), I saw that the coordinates from my cursor-placing exercise turned out to be pretty accurate. The mounds vary in size and angle of placement, so these coordinates are only good for one specific spot on each cairn, but this is good enough to correlate the different maps coordinates I had come up with the actual mounds on the ground.

I still need to confirm some of the cairn locations, such as #16 and #17 (which do not seem to match the maps), but overall I have confirmed the locations of the central mounds, especially #15 (the cairn that has called to me the most so far, as I related in a previous post) and #9, a cairn on the southeast periphery that called to me on Friday, April 30.

Friday Foxtrot

While I hadn’t specifically gone back to the mounds last Friday for any further spirit communication, Mound 9 did call to me, so I walked over to see what I might learn. I walked up to the northern edge of the mound (I don’t walk on top of the stones unless I feel especially welcomed and compelled to do so) and the mound immediately took on a light glow while the atmosphere began to fill with a lighter version of what I refer to as the Mists of Avalon, the mist that arises to indicate that I have entered into an etheric field of vision and that my mental body has connected with the mental body of the local spirit I’m communing with.

(I don’t think I’ve ever gone into detail describing these misty moments, but I will say here that what I see looks literally like a sudden blanket of mist swirling up around me as if I were standing in an extremely dense swirling fog. In the movie version of The Mists of Avalon the characters were enveloped in exactly this kind of fog when they were transported from the everyday perspective of Glastonbury into the mystical perspective of Avalon. I assume that for now this serves as a visual confirmation of my communicative connection with the local spirits.)

So in just a few seconds I was already in conversation with this particular spirit, who I imagine as different from the one I spoke with at Mound 15 a few days prior. The voice instructed me to walk around to the southest corner of the mound, which I did in a clockwise direction, at which point I tuned in more deeply to this mental body transmission. I don’t recall the details of the conversation, but it consisted mostly of establishing firm contact in preparation for future exchanges. One thing I do remember is that the spirit explained that the configuration of the mound placements in the Järnvik site conformed with a consciously plotted energetic structure in which each mound contributes to a larger symphony of flows and vibrations.

At some point in the conversation the spirit suggested that I walk to the southeastern corner of the complex to the edge of the field to the east. I haven’t found a name for the field on any maps yet, but it lies between the cairn complex and the main road as it passes by the Järnvik peninsula on the lakeside of Degersjön—an odd name for a peninsula, given that “Järnvik” is Swedish for “iron bay” and not Järnhalvö or “iron peninsula.” It is possible that the bay to the east of the Järnvik peninsula is called Järnvik, sandwiched between Svartviken (“Black Bay”) and Sandviken (“Sand Bay”).

The spirit suggested that there was a “gift” awaiting me at the edge of the field, so I walked to the edge of the forest looking out onto the meadow. Just as I got there, I saw a beautiful fox come walking up over a small rise near the deer hunting stand, crossing through the grass to where the cairn forest meets the pond to the south (also possibly unnamed). I was stunned. In the year and a half during which we have lived in Fiskars, I had only seen one other fox despite all of the time we have spent in the forests and meadows. So any sighting at all would have been a true gift—but this was even more extraordinary in that the sighting lasted for a full minute! I felt so lucky having been granted this connection to the fox magic in this way.

The Fox crosses the Meadow.

In awe at receiving such a gift, I meditatively and attentively walked back through the meadows and forests back home to allow this experience to settle into my bones.
